Anganwadi Helpers

She has to work 4 hours a day to help the Anganwadi Worker in the following ways :
1Cooking and service the food to children and mothers;
2Cleaning the Anganwadi premises daily; fetching water for Anganwadi;
3Cleanliness of small children;
4Collection of small children from village at the Anganwadi.
Helper should develop skills in :
1Training children to be hygienic in their personal and toilet habits;
2Assist AWW in health check-ups, weighing of children and immunization of pregnant women and children;
3Preparation of simple recipes, conservation of nutrients through correct methods of sanitation, storage and cooking;
4Disposal of food wastes, peels etc;
5Developing a small kitchen garden;
6Organizing and conducting simple play and creative activities for the overall development of children;
7Organising group activities like singing songs with music and actions, story tellingl dramatization etc. using folk media;
8Eliciting participation of mothers in the Anganwadi Programme;
9Creating an awareness among months about nutrition, health and play needs of their children;
10Arrange equipment in the Anganwadi.
       
Additional Responsibilities 
The Helper will assist Anganwadi Workers in :-
1DWCRA meetings conducted by AWWs;
2NHED demonstrations to be given by Mobile Food and Nutrition Extension;
3Involving Adolescent girls in the activities of AWCs and providing them various services;
4Motivating community women to adopt new schemes like Mahila Samridhi Yojana Rashtriya Mahila Kosh (where these schemes are applicable);
5Providing information to Supervisors regarding growth of each child for community growth chart.
